With the first regular-season series of the 2026 MLB season out of the way, bettors and sportsbooks are getting their first looks at what the World Series contenders look like on the field. The most notable mover near the top of the board was the Seattle Mariners, who moved into a tie with the New York Yankees at 10-1 for the second-best odds behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (+230). Seattle was one of the most-backed teams in the futures market this offseason and has improved from its opener at 14-1 despite a 2-2 start.
The next tier of contenders consolidated at 14-1 with the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays all occupying that space. The Mets lengthened slightly from 13-1 coming into the season, while the Phillies and Blue Jays shortened from 16-1 and 15-1, respectively.
Further down the board, the Milwaukee Brewers improved from 35-1 to 28-1 after a 3-0 start, while the Kansas City Royals (40-1 to 30-1) and Pittsburgh Pirates (65-1 to 55-1) jumped up despite beginning 1-2. Some notable demotions include the San Diego Padres (35-1 to 40-1) and Athletics (80-1 to 100-1).
Here are the win totals for every team for 2026, including their odds to win their division, the league championship and the World Series.
