Dusty May has informed Michigan officials that he’s not pursuing any college basketball jobs, ESPN sources tell me and Jeff Borzello. May had been an initial target at North Carolina, but that never materialized because of Michigan advancing in the NCAA Tournament.

Dusty May said he expects star forward Yaxel Lendeborg to play against UConn in the national title game. May said that Lendeborg had an MRI after hurting his knee and ankle against Illinois. He said the decision will be up to Lendeborg and the Michigan medical staff. "I’m sure he’ll give it a go tomorrow," May said. May added: "He played the second half like a 38-year old at the YMCA. A really good 38-year old at the YMCA."

Alabama AD Greg Byrne announces that coach Nate Oats has signed a new contract that will put him among the Top 5 paid coaches in college basketball. Oats ranked No. 10 in pay last season at more than $5 million. He's 170-73 there. Alabama has reached four consecutive Sweet 16s.

Significant update on UConn starting guard Solo Ball. Dan Hurley says Ball has a foot sprain and will not practice today. He's in a boot. Ball averages 12.9 ppg for the Huskies. Will be something to monitor for tomorrow night in the title game against Michigan. Ball played an outsized role against Illinois in the Final Four, as he had 13 points in 28 minutes. That included 16 minutes in the second half.
